The person who guides and helps the characters confidently face the past and open up about their lives is MC Le Anh.

In the recently aired episode, viewers were deeply moved when hearing the story of a mother in Thai Binh who had to swallow her pride and cross the border twice to find her daughter who was tricked and sold to China.

The mother choked up as she told the story of saving her daughter who was sold to China at the age of 13.

According to this woman, her daughter went missing in 1996, when she was only 13 years old.

At that time, she was working at a hotel in Dong Chau - Thai Binh. Due to the storm, she returned to her hometown, at this time her husband announced the shocking news, her daughter was missing.

Since then, she has been secretly searching for news about her child. Many people suspect that her child was sold to China because at that time, there were many cases of people being tricked and sold to China in her locality. There were 3 cases near her house that are still missing.

In extreme pain, the thought of losing her child made her lose her appetite and sleep, and at times she thought she was going crazy. Wherever she went, whoever she met, she asked for help but to no avail.

This mother also said she did not dare report to the authorities because she thought about her daughter's future. If she could find her daughter, she would have a normal life, without being gossiped about or criticized by others.

Six years later, in 2001, she unexpectedly received a letter from her daughter sent to her correct home address. In the letter, the girl said she was in China.

Immediately after that, she planned to cross the border to find her child in a difficult situation, with no money. She complained about this to the woman who agreed to take her to China to find her child (this woman originally lived in China).

Luckily, the woman agreed to pay for her trip and would return when she finished her work. The cost of the trip was reported by the woman to be 2 million VND (equivalent to 4 taels of gold at that time).

The grieving mother shared that the journey across the border to find her child was extremely terrifying. Taking the bus to Lang Son, she continued along the forest road, crossing vast fields, full of mud and swamps...

MC Le Anh: "Every character's story haunts me."

After traveling many stages and several days, she finally arrived in Guangzhou. It was still quite a distance from where her daughter was staying, so the woman leading the way called her daughter.

I thought that after so many days apart, talking to mother and daughter on the phone would be both happy and sad, but her daughter said doubtfully: "Mom, I've been gone for so long, I don't recognize your voice." So the mother and daughter talked on the phone 6 or 7 times.

Her daughter confessed that she was afraid of being sold again and suspected that she had been tricked. Her daughter set a condition: if she told her special qualities, she would meet her. Finally, her daughter believed that the person on the phone was her mother.

She told her Chinese husband about this. The husband was very happy to hear that his mother-in-law was coming, but he was worried that he would lose his wife, so he did not let her son go see his mother. Her son had to negotiate and agree to let her husband go see his mother alone, while she stayed home.

When she arrived at her daughter's husband's house, she saw the difficult life and her skinny, starving grandchild, and she was in inconsolable pain...

The woman guiding her said that taking her there and picking up her daughter were two completely different things. Of course, the costs for those two things were calculated separately.

She said: “If I had more money then my children and I would have had a chance to come back, but I was in such a difficult situation… I didn’t dare think about calling the police. If I had called the police, I would have come back without losing any money.”

This mother said that her daughter was in China without any identification papers, living in exile, and if she died, she would be considered missing. Her daughter's husband's family also threatened that if she escaped, they would cut her tendons.

Before she returned to Vietnam, she left a small amount of money for her daughter to take care of running away from that house.

A month later, she returned to Guangzhou for the second time. She and her daughter kept talking on the phone, setting a date and time for her daughter to run away to meet her at a predetermined location, so that she could take her daughter back to the country. This time, she was happy to be able to bring her daughter back…
