On March 25, the People's Committee of Trieu Do commune (Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri) confirmed that the commune had divided 8 breeding cows among the 10 cows that the province provided to the people in the commune to develop livestock farming. Of these, 5 were slaughtered.
Previously, according to the reflection of Gia Do village people, Trieu Do commune, at the end of 2017, Trieu Do commune received 10 breeding bulls according to the allocation from the program to support household livestock farming in Quang Tri province.
Each bull costs 18 million VND. Of which, 4 million is contributed by the people and 14 million is supported by the State. The beneficiaries are households that directly raise the bull and must commit to caring for, raising and exploiting the bull for at least 48 months.
However, after receiving 10 cows, Trieu Do commune authorities immediately divided the cows among relatives of commune officials.
Among the recipients of the cows were an officer of the Commune People's Committee Office, the brother of the Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, the brother of the Commune Police Chief, the cousin of the Commune Party Secretary, the brother of an officer of the Commune Agriculture and Rural Development...
Only two households not related to the commune officials received cows. And a short time later, five of the bulls were slaughtered.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee - because the number of cows received at the end of the solar year was so urgent, Mr. Hong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Trieu Do Commune - received them and divided them among the above households.
Meanwhile, some village chiefs said they "had never been notified about registering to receive cows, but the commune chairman said he had called the village chiefs to ask if anyone had registered, but no one had received any."
"The households that received the above-mentioned cows are also livestock farmers, so they comply with the regulations of the superiors," Mr. Truong further explained.
Regarding the slaughter of 5 out of 10 cows, Mr. Truong said the commune has sent officials to verify the specific reason.
