Arrested 2 more subjects in online gambling ring
Police have arrested several more suspects in an online gambling ring involving nearly 100 billion VND.
On the afternoon of March 27, Colonel Nguyen Van Minh, Head of the Economic Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police, said that the unit had just arrested two subjects, Ton That Hoai Viet (41 years old, residing in Tay Tri Nhon village, Phu Thuong commune, Phu Vang district) and Huynh Kim Phuc (45 years old, residing in Duong Mong village, Phu My commune, Phu Vang district).

These are two subjects in a gambling ring with a total amount of nearly 100 billion VND that was recently busted by the Economic Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police in early March 2018.
This line was led by Truong Minh Quang (32 years old, residing in Nam Thuong village, Phu Thuong commune, Phu Vang district). In which, Viet and Phuc took the accounts of their direct superiors to gamble directly in the form of football betting via the internet.
During the search and arrest of the two suspects Viet and Phuc, the Economic Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police seized a large amount of money that the subjects had illegally profited from.

As reported, after monitoring and collecting evidence, on the morning of March 5, Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police arrested Quang and a group of suspects, including: Tran Phan Manh Hung (33 years old, residing at 2/280 Nguyen Sinh Cung Street, Hue City); Pham Minh Thanh (35 years old, residing in Vinh Xuan Commune, Phu Vang District); Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong (51 years old) and Ho Dac Thanh (55 years old, both residing at 5 Le Quy Don Street, Hue City) and Ton That Co (46 years old, residing in Tay Thuong Village, Phu Thuong Commune, Phu Vang District).
Thereby, nearly 1.8 billion VND, 4 gold bars, 4 cars of various types, many equipment and machinery serving gambling and organizing gambling via the Internet, more than 3,000 pages of documents related to football betting activities of the subjects were temporarily seized.
Regarding this case, the Economic Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police has arrested and prosecuted a total of 10 subjects./.
