Stopping their motorbike in front of the bank, two young men went inside and used a gun-like object to control the security guard and staff but were resisted.

Around noon on March 31, two young men on a motorbike stopped in front of the An Binh Bank branch on Luy Ban Bich Street (Tan Phu District). One of them went inside and held a gun (suspected to be fake) to control the security guard.

The security guard fought back, shouting "robbery". The tellers immediately rang the alarm.

The other young man also rushed in to threaten the staff, demanding money. However, due to the fierce struggle, the two men ran outside and got into the car to flee. The security force chased after them but could not catch up.

An Binh Bank representative said that the two young men did not cause any damage to people or property of customers, the bank or staff. The unit is coordinating with the investigation agency to clarify the robbery and strengthen security, ensure safety at transaction points as well as report to the State Bank to warn the entire system.

"Security guards and other staff were trained in security in emergency situations, so they successfully prevented their actions," said An Binh representative.
