President suggests Vietnam and China handle maritime issues well
The President suggested that both sides properly handle maritime issues in the spirit of respecting each other's legitimate interests and respecting international law.

The President emphasized that the friendly neighborly relationship of “both comrades and brothers” that was cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong and many generations of leaders of the two countries is a valuable common asset of the two Parties, two countries and two peoples, and needs to be preserved, inherited and constantly promoted.
The President affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always attach importance to the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China; and are ready to work with the Party, State and people of China to promote this relationship.
The President suggested that the two countries strengthen relations between the two Parties and the two countries, focusing on the following aspects: enhancing political trust, maintaining regular exchanges and contacts between high-ranking leaders, and promoting exchanges between ministries, branches, localities, businesses and people of the two countries.
The two sides need to pay attention to and direct all levels and sectors to properly and fully implement the agreements between the two countries; promote economic, trade and investment commensurate with the political relations between the two countries; and create favorable conditions to enhance exchanges, understanding and mutual trust among all classes of people.
Ministries, sectors and localities of the two sides need to strengthen economic connectivity, promote balanced and sustainable development of bilateral trade; expand and improve the effectiveness of mutually beneficial cooperation areas, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.
The President suggested that both sides properly handle maritime issues in the spirit of respecting each other's legitimate interests and international law. Both sides need to seriously implement the common perception of the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries, the Agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of maritime issues and the provisions of international law to peacefully resolve maritime disputes.
At the same time, the two sides need to control disagreements well, not take actions that complicate the situation, and contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea.

Mr. Wang Yi affirmed that the Party, Government and people of China always attach importance to and are ready to work with Vietnam to promote the friendly neighborly relationship and comprehensive cooperation between China and Vietnam.
Mr. Wang Yi said that China will seriously implement the Agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of maritime issues between Vietnam and China; hope that both sides will control and not complicate the situation, and properly handle maritime issues./.
