Quynh Luu district has released shrimp into over 250 hectares for the first crop.
(Baonghean.vn) - After more than a month of actively stocking shrimp fry, the entire Quynh Luu district has stocked 250 hectares of shrimp for the first crop; currently, households are continuing to prepare ponds and select shrimp fry to cover the entire farming area.
Quynh Luu is the locality with the largest shrimp farming area in the province, with 46 hectares.5Shrimp farming ponds are concentrated in the communes of Quỳnh Thanh, Quỳnh Bảng, Quỳnh Minh, Quỳnh Lương, An Hòa, Quỳnh Nghĩa, and Trịnh Môn Farm.
According to the shrimp stocking schedule for the first crop of 2018, households in the district will stock shrimp from March 15th to July 30th, 2018, with approximately 450-500 million shrimp fry being released.

To ensure a successful shrimp farming season in 2018, Quynh Luu district directed local authorities to encourage farmers to strictly adhere to the farming process. Accordingly, for whiteleg shrimp, the stocking density should be between 60 and 100 shrimp per square meter.2For brackish water shrimp farming using intensive or semi-intensive methods, the stocking density is 15-20 shrimp/m².2Improved extensive farming with a stocking density of 6-8 fish/m².2.
