Actress commits suicide after being forced to have sex 100 times with 31 men
South Korean authorities are reviewing Jang Ja Yun's 2009 suicide, following requests from more than 200,000 people.

Supporters believe that if the authorities thoroughly eliminate corruption in society, South Korea will deserve to be a civilized country. "Maybe somewhere in the world, there is someone suffering like Jang Ja Yun...", the petition reads.
The call to reinvestigate Jang Ja Yun's case is a consequence of MeToo -movementprotest against sexual abuse in Korea. According to regulations, if the number of people supporting the call reaches more than 200 thousand people in a month, the relevant agency is responsible for responding to the people's request.However, a lawyer said that due to lack of evidence and the fact that many years have passed, the investigation will face many difficulties.
Jang Ja Yun died by hanging at her home on March 8, 2009. Beforesuicidal, the actress left a letter saying she was forced to have sex and serve alcohol to rich men. If she did not obey, she would be beaten. Ja Yun said she had to"sex" 100 timeswith 31 men, including those working in finance and media.
Authorities investigated the case and prosecuted two people, including Mr. Kim Sung Hoon - Director of Jang Ja Yun's management company - and her manager. After many appeals, both received suspended sentences.Many Korean audiences were not satisfied with this verdict and believed that the authorities had not investigated thoroughly, and that some other suspects were still at large.
