Launched in the Vietnamese market in December 2014, Mazda3 quickly dominated the market share with sales overwhelming competitors in the same segment, including Honda Civic, to become the best-selling car in the segment. By mid-2017, there were about 25,000 Mazda3s on the streets of Vietnam. In May 2017, Truong Hai (THACO) continued to launch the upgraded version of Mazda3 with a slightly changed appearance and additional equipment. Mazda3 2017 still has 3 versions: 1.5 sedan AT, 1.5 AT hatchback and 2.0 sedan AT.
Meanwhile, the Honda Civic 1.5L, which was introduced to the Vietnamese market at the end of 2016, also made a good impression thanks to its sporty design and completely new turbocharged engine technology. However, the sales of the Honda Civic 1.5L have not met expectations because the selling price is quite high due to being imported completely from Thailand. Recently, the selling price of this model has also been adjusted down to 890 million VND, but it is still high compared to the general level of the current C-class car line.

Big price difference

Both the Mazda3 and Honda Civic 1.5L are the highest-end versions, so both models are equipped with the latest technology, typically full LED headlights, taillights and daytime running lights. The Mazda3 has 18-inch alloy wheels, while the Honda Civic 1.5L only has 17 inches. The Mazda3's fog lights are LED while the Civic's are halogen.
The Mazda3 has a slightly more compact overall size than the Honda Civic, and the Mazda3's ground clearance is also larger, giving the driver more confidence when driving on rough roads, while the Honda Civic has a low chassis that creates a sporty look, meeting the tastes of young people.
