Mountainous people in Nghe An caught a giant eel.
(Baonghean.vn) - The owner of a restaurant in Block 5 of Con Cuong town (Nghe An) said that he had just bought a giant catfish measuring 1.6m in length and weighing 14kg, caught by a resident of the mountainous district of Ky Son on the Lam River.

The fisherman named Lien caught a giant catfish and said, this morningOn April 6, while fishing on Lam River, in Ky Son district, I unexpectedly caught a 1.6 m long and 14 kg heavy fish.
Mr. Lien shared that he has been fishing for many years but this is the first time he has caught such a big fish. He then sold the fish to a restaurant in Con Cuong town for more than 10 million VND.
The eel fish is one of the specialties of the Lam River. However, according to fishermen, this fish is becoming increasingly scarce due to frequent hunting and fishing.

The eel fish has a long, slender, round body, a head with long whiskers, and few bones. This fish usually lives in caves and crevices where water flows. The eel fish is considered the most valuable in Western Nghe An, with a market price ranging from 800,000 to 1 million VND/kg, depending on the weight of the fish; the bigger the fish, the higher the price.
