Nam Phuc commune (Nam Dan district) receives certificate recognizing it as a New Rural Area.
(Baonghean.vn) - On April 7th, Nam Phuc commune, Nam Dan district, held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing it as a National Standard New Rural Commune.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives from several provincial departments and agencies, and leaders of Nam Dan district.
Nam Phuc commune in Nam Dan district is located in a flood-prone area, suffering annual damage from natural disasters such as floods, and the lives of its people are fraught with difficulties.
However, thanks to the strong mobilization of local resources and the effective utilization of all available support, by October 2017, Nam Phuc commune had completed all 19 criteria for new rural development. The commune has completed many major projects such as: the commune People's Committee office, the commune cultural center, the health station, and schools. 16 km of main roads connecting hamlets, communes, and districts have been asphalted or concreted, ensuring convenient transportation and trade; 12.7/14.6 km of canals and ditches have been reinforced, meeting the needs of the people and complying with regulations on local disaster prevention...

In addition, the locality is promoting economic development through solutions such as restructuring production, establishing agricultural service cooperatives, and focusing on creating jobs for rural workers; contributing to raising people's income.
To date, the average per capita income of the commune has reached 27.37 million VND/person/year, an increase of nearly 2.5 times compared to 2011. The poverty rate has now decreased to only 4.4%.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised and highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee, government, and people of Nam Phuc commune in implementing the New Rural Development movement. He requested that the locality continue to uphold the responsibility of the entire political system and the people to maintain and improve the quality of the achieved New Rural Development criteria; focus on developing production, applying science and technology, promoting agricultural mechanization in rural areas, creating linkages in the production value chain of products, in order to improve the lives and incomes of the people; and strive to build Nam Phuc into a model New Rural Development commune.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 4 individuals; the Nam Dan District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 2 individuals; and the Nam Phuc Commune People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 individuals and 6 collectives for their outstanding achievements in the local New Rural Development movement.
