It is known that illegal sand mining has long been a burning issue in localities along Lam River in general and Anh Son district in particular.
The leaders of Anh Son District Police have resolutely directed professional teams and commune police to apply synchronous working measures to combat and thoroughly prevent this problem.
However, the legal framework for granting mining permits and raw material gathering ports is not yet strict; the fight against these acts faces many difficulties because the sanctions for these acts are not yet deterrent enough; the miners also use many tricks to deal with the authorities such as: sending people to keep watch, operating at noon, midnight when the authorities are absent.
Besides, the majority of illegal miners mainly live on the river, so the fight against illegal miners in the area is not very effective.
