Russian VKS fighter jets approach US destroyer near Syrian coast
Russian fighter jets flew at least four times near the US destroyer USS Donald Cook, which is in the Mediterranean Sea, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported.
According to this publication, the US Navy ship arrived about 100 km from the city of Tartus — the Russian naval base.

Earlier, the Washington Examiner, citing a source in the Pentagon, said that the USS Donald Cook left port in Cyprus on Monday and headed for Syria. It was noted that the destroyer is equipped with 60 "Tomahawk" cruise missiles.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Washington would decide within 24-48 hours on its response to the chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma.
