According to Russia's Sputnik news agency, Director of Internal Medicine at Britain's Salisbury District Hospital, Christine Blanshard, said that former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal will be able to be discharged as scheduled.

In a statement on April 10, Director Blanshard confirmed that Mr. Sergei's health has improved a lot after he regained consciousness on April 7.

Although the former spy's recovery has been slower than that of his daughter Yulia Skripal, hospital officials hope he will still be able to be discharged as scheduled.

Director Blanshard also confirmed that Ms. Yulia had been discharged from the hospital, and stated that although this did not end Ms. Yulia's treatment, it marked an important event.

Earlier that day, the BBC reported that after being discharged from the hospital, Yulia was taken to a "secure location." There was also information that Mr. Skripal and his son could be taken to the United States to live.

On March 4, former double agent Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found unconscious in the city of Salisbury.

Immediately afterwards, although no concrete evidence was provided, the British side accused Moscow of involvement in the incident and called on Western allies to expel Russian diplomats. To date, more than 150 Russian diplomats have been expelled.

The Russian government denied all related allegations and announced the expulsion of an equivalent number of diplomatic staff from many member countries of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)./.
