7 mistakes of parents that "kill" passion in children

Children's passions can be extinguished early because parents often teach them to find practical jobs and not to dream unrealistically.

1. You are the center of the universe

Parents should not be too protective and watchful of their children. If you want your children to become independent and strong, you should let them make choices and take care of themselves more.

In some cases, concern and worry can have the opposite effect. Children grow up, become more independent, but will not know how to face reality without the help of their parents.

2. Career advancement is an indicator of success

Career growth is not only vertical (from employee to manager, director...) but also horizontal. For example, a person becomes famous for his sewing, drawing and carpentry skills. This is one definition of success.

Nowadays, any hobby can be turned into a career and personal development is one of the most important things. If a child dislikes math but is very good at drawing, parents may consider encouraging their child to learn drawing instead of hiring a math tutor.

3. Must find a practical job

Many children's dreams are dashed by this principle. Some parents often judge: "Stories and literature? That's silly. Accounting is a more suitable career!". However, in 10-15 years, the importance of the career that children choose may be different than it is now. The world is constantly changing, only those who are flexible and adaptable will achieve success.

4. You must accumulate as much knowledge as possible.

“How come you don’t know this?” we often exclaim when a child doesn’t know who Anne Frank is. In fact, a child who is knowledgeable in many fields is to be commended, but a lack of general knowledge does not ruin the future. That information is easily found on the Internet.

However, you should teach your child how to find information quickly, verify its accuracy, and manage their time to absorb knowledge effectively.

5. You have to work hard to succeed.

Successful role models like Steve Jobs didn’t have to work hard at things they hated, but just did what they wanted, pursuing their own ideas. Children will also see many people who didn’t work hard to achieve success, but just got lucky.

Success does not mean hard work. In fact, if you do not make the right choices, you may end up working in the wrong place and your hard work will be in vain.

6. When you do something, you must do it as best as you can.

This is one of those pieces of advice that has been passed down from generation to generation. But if you look at a student’s day at school, you’ll see that they have too much to do. In order to achieve the goal of doing well at everything, many children think of cheating in their studies and exams. In addition, when they do well enough at everything, they may not be good at any one thing.

7. You have to save money

Having a reserve fund is good, but knowing how to make money make money is even better. In the modern world, money should be invested but carefully, and not everyone knows how. Therefore, everyone needs to be equipped with basic knowledge to make a financial plan.
