Russian Senator Responds to US Ambassador to the United Nations After Statement on Syria
Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on the words of US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley that Syria "does not deserve" to sit at the negotiating table with the US.

"Ms. Haley said that Syria is "not worthy" of negotiating with the US. Previously, North Korea was also considered unworthy of negotiating with the US. But when this country has an atomic bomb, it becomes worthy. The problem is just the correlation of forces," - the Senator wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Hailey ruled out the possibility of direct negotiations with Syria, she said in an interview with CBS.
"We do not want to negotiate directly with Syria. They do not deserve to negotiate with the United States. Syria only tortures its people and destroys its homeland," Haley said, while affirming that Washington never intended to overthrow Bashar Assad.
