To fulfill the duty of a mother, although it is painful and leaves scars that can never disappear, mothers are still resilient, ready to sacrifice so that their children can be born safely.

Perhaps the love for their children is too great, so women are resilient, brave, willing to trade the most beautiful things of their youth to give birth. Giving birth is not easy, especially cesarean sections. During a cesarean section, the mother must endure physical pain, even face death, but she still accepts in exchange for an angel.

Moved by the great sacrifices of women, Catie Atkinson, an artist living in New Mexico, USA, whose job is to create paintings depicting the beauty of motherhood, became famous when posting a series of photos on the topic of cesarean section on social networks.

Women who have undergone cesarean sections are brave warriors.

“To all the moms who had C-sections, this is for you,” Atkinson said. “I hope you know that you deserve recognition. That you are a fighter. That you are incredibly brave and strong. I hope you know that giving birth on the operating table does not diminish you as a mother.”

Each picture is a touching story about cesarean section.

Atkinson’s work is truly inspirational to mothers everywhere. Each of her paintings tells a part of their story, no matter how they experience childbirth.

Surgical scars are proof of the miracles that appear in this world.

One of the most striking paintings is of a mother’s body with a scar left after giving birth. Above the scar is the text, “A miracle happened here.” Atkinson has many similar works designed as digital prints.

Atkinson said: "These works are inspired by my own experiences as a mother and the beauty and strength I see in other mothers. I want to create works of art that act as a mirror so that at some point in the difficult and arduous journey of motherhood, women can see how strong and wonderful they are.”
