"When some of your equipment is not working, that's a sign that someone is trying to jam your aircraft. We already know who it is,"GMAApril 14 quoted a statement from an EA-18G Growler electronic warfare fighter pilot on the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier.

According to the pilot, the incident occurred while the USS Theodore Roosevelt was patrolling the South China Sea on its way to Singapore. The commander of the US aircraft carrier also said that the Chinese navy acted unprofessionally when it encountered the ship in the South China Sea.

USS Theodore Roosevelt participated in joint naval exercises with Singaporean warships in international waters in the southern South China Sea on April 6-8. The exercises included target firing, air defense, and helicopter landing exercises to strengthen ties and enhance coordination between the two navies.

Wall Street JournalApril 9Citing US military officials, the newspaper said China has deployed jamming equipment on Mischief Reef and Fiery Cross Reef in the Spratly Islands, which are illegally occupied by Beijing. The newspaper also published satellite images showing the jamming system’s antenna and analyzed that the equipment can block military communications and radar signals.

Vietnam has repeatedly stressed that it has sufficient legal basis and historical evidence to assert its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. China’s reclamation and construction activities seriously violate Vietnam’s sovereignty and Vietnam has repeatedly called on China to end its illegal actions.
