Youth group washes cars to raise funds for charity
(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, Dien Chau District Youth Union has organized many creative models to raise funds to support children in difficult circumstances and families with meritorious services, including a motorbike washing model to raise funds.
Currently, 10 commune youth unions are implementing this model and are widely supported by the people.
These days, the youth union members in blue volunteer shirts of Dien Dong commune (Dien Chau) are busy with charity car washing. The number of cars pouring into the post office (car wash point) is increasing.
Mr. Hoang Minh Duc - Secretary of Dien Dong Commune Youth Union shared: We do this fundraising car wash 3 times/month, each time we wash cars, we announce it on the commune's loudspeaker so that people know. Since implementing the model, people have come to wash cars to support the fund, to donate to difficult circumstances.

To have tools and space for car washing, in addition to their own contributions, the members of Dien Dong commune mobilized people and called on businesses to join hands in supporting, with a total amount of 18 million VND.
Currently, the car wash price is 15,000 VND/time. Because there are many members and they work with a high sense of responsibility, the car wash time is shortened, many people are very satisfied and are willing to pay more. In just one day, the union members earned nearly 2 million VND, along with donations from the people.
After more than 1 year of implementing the charity car wash model, Dien Dong Commune Youth Union has raised nearly 20 million VND to support disadvantaged families and poor children.

Through discussion, Mr. Le Viet Dung - Secretary of Dien Chau District Youth Union said: Charity car wash is one of the creative models to raise funds to support poor children in difficult circumstances that has been widely responded by the people.In the whole Dien Chau district, there are 10 units that have implemented this model, including units that have done very well such as Dien Dong, Dien Quang, Dien Ngoc...
On average, each unit raises over 10 million VND/year. Currently, over 100 million VND from car wash funds has been donated to many disadvantaged people in the district.
This is a practical activity of the Youth Union, supported by all classes of people. In the coming time, the amount of funds raised will be even higher because many Youth Union organizations are continuing to expand this model.
