In 5th grade, during an outdoor activity, because of being teased by friends, Thao was beaten.fell, broke the spine, whole body paralyzed, after a period of treatment was able to go to school normally.

However, in early 2018, her illness relapsed, her body became weak, from 40 kg to only 25 kg, her limbs were atrophied, Thao's spine was completely deviated to one side, unable to walk.
