Paris reports Russian fighter jets approaching French ships
Russian military aircraft have approached French military ships eight times in the past eight months, French Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Christophe Praziuk said.

"This action has been carried out eight times in the past eight months," - France Press quoted Mr. Praziuk's statement at the French Senate's international relations and security committee held on April 11.
The admiral recalled that the French frigate had been off the Syrian coast since 2015. Praziuk added that in early April 2018, Russian fighter jets flew closer to the French frigate Aquitaine than other aircraft would normally observe. According to the admiral, “these actions could have caused the incident.”
