Choosing the location to erect the statue of VI Lenin in Vinh City
(Baonghean.vn) - The two locations selected to present to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for decision on the location of the statue of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin are Cua Bac Flower Garden (Tam Giac Park) and Cua Nam Flower Garden.
At the regular meeting of the People's Committee of Nghe An province (April 24), the leader of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An stated the content of Official Dispatch No. 802/BVHTTDL - HTQT dated March 7, 2018 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent to the People's Committee of Nghe An province regarding the Russian Federation presenting Nghe An province with the statue of VI Lenin.
According to the dispatch, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vietnam has issued Official Note No. 457 dated February 22, 2018 to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism informing that the Government of Ulianovsk Province (hometown of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin) plans to present the People's Committee of Nghe An Province with a statue of VI Lenin to be placed in Vinh City. This is a response from the Russian Federation to the cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in placing a statue of President Ho Chi Minh in June 2017 in Ulianovsk Province (Russia).

Regarding the above proposal of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the People's Committee of Nghe An province to give its opinion on receiving and placing the statue of Lenin in Vinh city. In case the People's Committee of Nghe An province agrees to receive, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the People's Committee of Nghe An province to proactively complete the relevant procedures to receive the monument and carry out the work of placing the statue in the locality.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Culture and Sports to study the plan to receive and place the statue of VI Lenin.

On the side of Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports, after receiving instructions from the Provincial People's Committee, it coordinated with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Construction, and Vinh City People's Committee to study the location of the statue of VI Lenin.
At the meeting, members of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and agencies conducted specific research and consideration of the location of the statue based on space, architecture and field location. The two locations selected to be submitted to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for decision were Cua Bac Flower Garden (Tam Giac Park); Cua Nam Flower Garden.
After the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee decides on the specific location, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee will develop a plan and have detailed discussions with Ulianovsk Province (Russia) on receiving the statue.
