In today's cars, the sunroof is a very familiar feature to most users. It helps take advantage of natural light, bringing a new, exciting feeling to passengers, especially in some MPV models. However, not many people know how to use the sunroof safely and properly designed and functionally.
Many people think that the sunroof is for children to stand in the wind, or play on it, and they also drive at slow speeds so it is not dangerous. However, in fact, there are many potential dangers that can cause injury to children or even affect their lives.
Here are some potential dangers of letting children stand in a sunroof:
The car encountered an unexpected situation and had to brake suddenly or was hit from behind.
Traffic laws require that everyone in a vehicle must wear a seat belt when driving. That is, even if the passenger is sitting in the seat, the seat belt must be worn, but it is even more dangerous when a child is standing and sticking his head out through the sunroof.
If the vehicle is unfortunately in an emergency situation such as a pedestrian, a motorbike cutting in front or simply the vehicle in front braking suddenly, there are 2 situations that can occur:
- People standing on the sunroof can be thrown out of the car by inertia if it is running at high speed.Children standing in the wind with a height only equal to the roof of the car: can hit their heads on the roof of the car, or hit their necks, which is very dangerous.
- The driver does not brake but turns the wheel suddenly to avoid the obstacle ahead: also causing injury to children due to the above collision.
In the situation where the car is suddenly hit from behind, it will also cause the consequences as mentioned above.

Injured by debris from other vehicles
Sometimes when driving on the road, we encounter situations where other cars are sprayed with debris because their tires have run over them. Usually, the small stones are thrown with enough force to dent the car or crack the windshield.
So is there any certainty that children standing on the roof of the car will not be hit by these flying debris? The consequences are obvious to anyone.
Hyperactive child suddenly climbed out of the window
Children are often not aware of the dangers of their actions. Just a few seconds of adult inattention, hyperactive children can suddenly climb onto the roof, and easily fall onto the road causing injury or be hit by other vehicles.
Unexpected accident
Two children died in India recently while standing on the sunroof of a Honda car. Both had their throats cut by kite strings and fell off the car. Although they were rushed to the emergency room, both died. The accident happened during a Kite Festival in India.
