Vintage cars parade through the streets of Hue

In order to contribute to promoting local culture and tourism, creating a joyful, grand and novel atmosphere, Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism coordinated with Volkswagen Vietnam Club and Hue Vintage Vespa Club to organize a parade to welcome Hue Festival 2018.

Participating in the parade were 44 vintage Volkswagen cars of car enthusiasts from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Hue... along with 30 Vespa motorbikes from the Vespa Club of Thua Thien - Hue.

The convoy departed from Hue City's Cultural Information Center, slowly passing Truong Tien Bridge, Dong Ba Market, Ky Dai...

to Hue station… for all car lovers to enjoy.

Many people from Hue followed the group to see more clearly many "famous" old Volkswagen Beetle cars.

In addition to parading on the streets of Hue city, the above-mentioned ancient cars also stopped at Nghinh Luong Dinh yard (Le Duan street) on the afternoon of April 27 and Ham Nghi yard (23/8 street) to display the cars for the public and tourists to enjoy.

The convoy passed through beautiful places in the ancient capital of Hue.

And through Hue National School.

The Beetle was first introduced in 1938 with the full name Volkswagen Type 1. This car model was introduced to Vietnam before the country was unified. There are many versions and generations of the Volkswagen Beetle in our country such as 1100, 1300, 1302, 1500... Of which the 1300 series is the most popular thanks to its low price.

Despite its age, the iconic and timeless design of the Volkswagen Beetle is still sought after in Vietnam. Car enthusiasts gather in groups to socialize, or collaborate with cultural and tourism agencies to organize roadshows.

The interior is simple, not many functions due to its old age. In Vietnam, players of this car line often add air conditioning themselves.
