Xuan Manh and Tuan Tai help SLNA win the 'water battle' of the 1/8 round of the National Cup
(Baonghean.vn) - Home field advantage along with the high performance of the young players helped SLNA have an easy match against Ho Chi Minh City Club in the 1/8 round of the 2018 National Cup.
The match at Vinh Stadium was quite slow and the quality of play was somewhat affected by the rain. SLNA was still the team that took the initiative and played more aggressively in the first half.

In the 9th minute, Que Ngoc Hai put the ball into the HCM City net with a header in the penalty area, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.

One of the highlights of the match came in the 70th minute, when Sam Ngoc Duc tackled SLNA player Van Duc roughly and received a second yellow card and had to leave the field.
In the 80th minute, Phan Van Duc escaped down the right wing, passed the ball to Ho Tuan Tai for a skillful finish, but his backheel could not bring SLNA a second goal.

Nghe An fans at Vinh Stadium did not have to wait too long for the second goal because 4 minutes later, from a corner kick on the right wing, Pham Xuan Manh jumped high to head the ball to double the gap for the home team.
