The Syrian army said several military bases in Hama and Aleppo were targeted by mysterious missiles on the evening of April 29.

The Syrian army said the attacks took place at 10:30 p.m. local time. The government of President Bashar al-Assad said this was a new act of aggression by their enemies.

"Syria is experiencing a new round of aggression, with several bases in the Hama and Aleppo countryside hit by enemy missiles," Reuters quoted the Syrian army as saying.

Earlier, Syrian state television said that explosions had been heard in Hama province and that authorities were investigating the incident. A short video broadcast by the station showed flames rising at one location.

Another source said that the 47th Regiment base in Hama was attacked, causing a large fire and many explosions that shook the entire area, and the Syrian air defense system immediately responded.

The incident took place after Syrian government troops drove out rebel fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from the countryside of Deir al-Zour province, eastern Syria, last week.
