"When South Korean guests come to toast, Kim Jong-un always stands up, lets the person opposite pour the wine, and drinks it all in one gulp. He never refuses anyone, even if they have to drink munbaeju, which has an alcohol content of up to 40%,"AFPToday, a guest attending the reception after the inter-Korean summit said.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a heavy smoker, but he did not smoke a cigarette when meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in out of respect. However, Kim was very enthusiastic about the South Koreans' invitation to drink.

During the banquet, the North Korean leader also showed his love for basketball by suggesting that Pyongyang and Seoul focus on the sport. "Why don't we hold basketball exchanges first, instead of South Korea-North Korea football matches?", Mr. Kim told Mr. Moon at the banquet.

Mr. Kim and Mr. Moon had a historic summit at Panmunjom on April 27. The joint statement after the meeting of the two leaders emphasized that North and South Korea will soon sign a peace treaty to end the war, and at the same time committed to working towards the goal of denuclearization of the peninsula.

A survey released on April 30 showed that 64.7% of South Koreans believe Pyongyang will keep its commitment to denuclearization and peace on the Korean Peninsula, a figure four times higher than the 14.7% before the summit between the leaders of the two Koreas.
