When stopped by the Phu Ly Traffic Police for not having a rearview mirror, the violator was quite surprised when the traffic police officer only asked him to buy a rearview mirror and reminded him to obey traffic laws. The story shared on social networks is surprising and amusing public opinion.

Over the past two days, on Facebook forums, there has been heated discussion about the "strange" way a traffic police officer in Phu Ly city (Ha Nam) handled a traffic violation on the April 30 - May 1 holiday.

The story was shared by account owner Tung Kaka on social networks.

Specifically, this account shared: He was participating in traffic by motorbike on National Highway 1A, running through Phu Ly city, when the traffic police stopped him for inspection because he did not have a rearview mirror.

The traffic police said there are two ways to handle the situation: 1. Decide on an administrative violation on the spot, with a fine of 80,000-100,000 VND; 2. Give a warning to the violator to continue driving. However, to ensure the safety of traffic participants, the traffic police do not impose a penalty, but only give a warning and temporarily confiscate the driver's license, on the condition that the violator must correct the error immediately, and then the driver's license will be returned to continue driving.

Tung Kaka account recounted the conversation with the traffic police:

"- Now go straight 200m to the red light intersection, turn left, there are a few repair shops that can install mirrors for only 25,000 VND.

- But now you have my driver's license. When I come back, who will I ask to get it?

- Take a photo of me if you're afraid I won't pay. I'll fix the problem and then come back to give you your license so you can continue driving.

A moment later he came back: - I'll pay now, you move carefully.

- Thank you, police officer!

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Van Huong, Traffic Police Team of Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province.

Through investigation, it was found that the traffic police officer who had the above special "punishment" method was Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Van Huong, from the Traffic Police Team of Phu Ly City, Ha Nam Province. According to Senior Lieutenant Huong, the incident happened at around 10am on April 30 at the Le Loi - Le Hoan intersection (near Bau market area - Phu Ly City).

At that time, he and the soldiers in the working group were on duty at the red light intersection of Le Loi and National Highway 1A when they discovered a young man riding a motorbike without a rearview mirror, so they asked him to stop.

Lieutenant Huong said: "I was quite surprised by the online community sharing the above incident. Because it was a holiday, we only reminded the violator when participating in traffic, I only asked the violator to install a mirror at a nearby auto repair shop and then return my driver's license. A while later, he returned and I returned his driver's license, he happily thanked him and continued driving."
