Researchers have just introduced a new smartwatch model that uses finger-tracking technology that can turn the wearer's arm into a touch screen.
Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have just launched a smartwatch they invented with a built-in laser projector that can turn the wearer's arm or hand into a... touch screen.
LumiWatch, as the smartwatch is called, is the first smartwatch to feature this feature. It uses a laser projector and a touch array with an interactive interface covering a 40cm surface.2, about 5 times the surface size of a typical smartwatch.

LumiWatch developers have released a video showcasing how the new smartwatch works.
Accordingly, users can operate on their arms with horizontal swipes to unlock the device, launch applications and even edit photos right on their arms.
It is estimated that this smartwatch model will retail for around $600, much cheaper than many smartwatch models currently on the market.
