During a field inspection of the industrial kitchen at Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone (HCMC), Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam had a 15,000 VND lunch with the workers.

On May 6, after the launching ceremony of the National Occupational Safety and Health Action Month in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety and Hygiene Committee inspected the workers' kitchen at Nidec Tosok Company (Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, Ho Chi Minh City).

This is a worker kitchen model that Nidec Tosok Company cooperates with a domestic enterprise to provide a closed system according to the "one-way kitchen" model from clean food sources.

Here, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam inspected and visited the food processing and sales areas. The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the worker kitchen model at this factory, ensuring food hygiene and safety.

Immediately after the inspection, the Deputy Prime Minister and his delegation lined up to have lunch with the workers. The lunch included rice, soup, stir-fried dishes and savory dishes for 15,000 VND each. When the canteen staff offered him a drink, the Deputy Prime Minister refused because he wanted to have the same portion of rice that cost 15,000 VND as the workers.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that our country currently has strengths in agricultural exports, exporting agricultural products to more than 180 countries each year. However, export enterprises have difficulty selling to the domestic market, so in the coming time we need to be determined to produce food for domestic supply that meets the standards and quality of export products.

Also at the inspection, Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety and Hygiene Department, said: the city is focusing on food safety and hygiene solutions for workers, students, and hospital canteens. In the coming time, the city will increase supervision and reduce intermediaries in the supply of industrial park meals so that workers receive the original value of the meals.

On the same morning, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee coordinated with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to launch the National Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health. At the launching ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu - Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that the theme of this year's action month is to proactively prevent and control dangerous and harmful factors in the workplace to limit occupational accidents and diseases, thereby calling on everyone to join hands to take practical and effective actions for the benefit of their units and themselves.
