The family of Mr. Nguyen Viet Hao, village 8, Long Son commune is concentrating on harvesting 3 hectares of spring tea. Mr. Hao said: This year, the weather is favorable, so the tea has a high yield and a good price. His family's tea has an average yield of 4.5-5 tons/ha. At this time, the average price of tea buds is 4,000 VND/kg, nearly 1,000 VND higher than last year..For each hectare, Mr. Hao's family earns 18-20 million VND/crop before deducting expenses.

Mr. Phi said: With 2 hectares of tea planted in 2001, his family is currently focusing on harvesting tea by machine. Each batch, the family harvests over 8 tons of fresh tea buds, after deducting expenses, they earn more than 20 million VND/batch. The tea is harvested and can be imported immediately, so the people are very excited.

Long Son Commune is one of the key tea growing areas of Anh Son District. These days, the tea harvest atmosphere is very busy on the tea hills. Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of Long Son Commune People's Committee said: "In recent years, Long Son Commune has identified tea as a key crop, increasing income for people. Currently, the whole commune has nearly 300 hectares of industrial tea.

In addition to exploiting the harvested tea area, the locality is currently implementing the planting of 10 new hectares of tea in 2018. Tea trees are harvested 7 times a year, each time 30 - 45 days apart, with an average yield of 4 - 5 tons/ha; generating a net profit of 70 - 80 million VND/ha/year. In the near future, the commune has a policy of planting 20 new hectares of tea each year according to the VietGAP model.

The whole Anh Son district currently has over 2,500 hectares of raw tea, of which 1,700 hectares have been harvested, concentrated in the communes of Hung Son, Long Son, Dinh Son and Cam Son. The annual output of fresh tea buds in the whole Anh Son district reaches over 30,000 tons.

To solve the output for over 2,500 hectares of tea, currently in Anh Son district there are 3 tea purchasing enterprises: Anh Son Tea Enterprise, Bai Phu Tea Enterprise, Hung Son Tea Enterprise with a capacity of 100 tons/day. Besides, to contribute to the competition in the tea market, in Anh Son there are also 13 mini family tea processing facilities.

Currently, the price of tea buds is 4,000 VND/kg, after harvesting, the tea is purchased on site. The product output is quite favorable, so recently, Anh Son farmers have been confident to focus on investing in developing industrial tea trees./.
