The death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 41, while more than 900 people were injured, the Gaza Health Ministry said.Tens of thousands of protesters clashed along the Gaza Strip border to protest the US embassy move to Jerusalem. There are currently about 13 major conflict points along the Gaza Strip.
It was the deadliest day in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since the 2014 war between the Jewish state and Hamas, the Islamist militant group that controls the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian government accuses Israel of "horrific massacre" in Gaza Strip, according toAFP.
The Israeli military said 10,000 "rioters" had gathered along the security fence and troops carried out the operation "according to standard procedure".
Palestinians say the US embassy move shows support for Israel's control of the entire city of Jerusalem, while Palestinians claim sovereignty over eastern Jerusalem.
Top US officials, including Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump, and Jared Kushner, Ivanka's husband, will attend the inauguration.
Hamas has been leading the protests, dubbed the "Great March of Return," for the past six weeks. Israel says protesters are trying to breach the border fence. The protests are expected to culminate on May 15, the anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, which they call "the day of catastrophe" because on that day in 1948, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were driven from their homes.
