A woman from Nghe An returns after 17 years of wandering in China
(Baonghean.vn) - After more than 17 years of wandering, Ms. Hoang Thi Yen (35 years old) in Yen Xuan village, Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) returned to her hometown to the surprise of many people.
On the afternoon of May 14, Ms. Hoang Thi Yen returned to her hometown with her two daughters.

Returning after 17 years, Ms. Yen only recognized her parents and spoke Vietnamese poorly. She said that after being tricked and sold to China, she got married in Fujian province.
In China, the couple has two daughters, the eldest is 15 years old, in 8th grade, the second is only 4 years old, neither of them can speak Vietnamese.
Ms. Yen said: After getting married for a while, she really wanted to return to Vietnam but "over there" they did not let her return because they were afraid that she would not be able to return! Luckily, thanks to knowing some Vietnamese people, they found out and helped her return to the country through an unofficial route. Halfway there, her husband's family found out that it took her a day and a night by car, motorbike, and on foot to cross the Vietnam-China border. On the afternoon of May 13, she arrived in Hanoi and was picked up by her younger brother in Quang Ninh at 4:00 p.m. on May 14.

As soon as Ms. Yen arrived in her hometown, many neighbors came to visit. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngan (49 years old) - Ms. Yen's aunt was excited: "Leaving since she was a girl, suddenly returning, everyone was surprised and happy".
Mr. Bui Xuan Linh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Vo Liet commune said that the commune received the information as soon as Ms. Yen returned and sent officials from various sectors and organizations to visit, encourage, and advise the family on necessary procedures, and reported the incident to higher authorities./.
