Tien burst into tears in court, repeatedly explaining that she did not intend to "kill anyone" but only wanted to warn her wife not to remind her next time.

Quang Nam People's Court has just opened the first instance trial, sentencing Luu Van Tien (28 years old, Tam Xuan 2 commune, Nui Thanh district) to 15 years in prison for murder.

According to the indictment, in August 2017, Tien, his brother Luu Van Canh (30 years old) and his uncle Tran Thuan (49 years old, living nearby) drank and sang karaoke at home. While cleaning up, Tien's wife reminded her husband to sing softly so the child could sleep.

Hearing that, Tien was already drunk and angry. She went to her motorbike to siphon gasoline and poured it on her wife... The fire that broke out under her husband's hand caused her to suffer burns on 65% of her body.

In court, Tien cried several times, saying that he lost control of himself while committing the crime. He said that pouring gasoline on his wife and setting her on fire was just to scare her so that she wouldn’t dare remind him again.
