After the news that the leader of the main sponsor company of Ho Chi Minh City Club threatened to dissolve the team, this afternoon (May 24), this unit met with some press to explain and introduce the new chairman of the club, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thang.

This morning, May 24, the media simultaneously reported that the leaders of Binh Minh Company - the main sponsor of Ho Chi Minh City Club - sent a petition to the People's Committee and departments of Ho Chi Minh City, requesting to consider the billboards in some areas of the city that local leaders had promised to deploy to raise funds to support the team, but so far have not been able to do so.

Because of financial difficulties, the leaders of Binh Minh Company threatened to dissolve Ho Chi Minh City Club if their demands were not met within the next 30 days from the date of sending the document on May 17, 2018.

The above information has made the members of Ho Chi Minh City Club and the city's football fans confused, even very angry. Faced with this problem, the leaders of Binh Minh Company hastily processed the information. On the one hand, they said that the above information was incorrect. On the other hand, this afternoon, this unit hastily introduced the new chairman of the club, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thang, who was the head coach of Vietnamese football, as a way to confirm that Ho Chi Minh City Club cannot be dissolved.

At the press conference, Coach Nguyen Huu Thang said: “I accepted the position of President of Ho Chi Minh City Club because it is my expertise. Next, I consider it an honor to cooperate with the Ho Chi Minh City team. And the role of President of Ho Chi Minh City Club will give me a new experience in football management.”

Currently, when Ho Chi Minh City Club's performance is declining with 3 consecutive losses and is ranked 11th in the overall standings with 9 points after 8 rounds, there has been information that Coach Nguyen Huu Thang will likely replace his colleague Miura on the coaching bench.

Regarding this, new chairman Nguyen Huu Thang affirmed: “I am not here to replace Miura. He works according to his contract and obligations. I am just an advisor and together with the coaching staff, I will find the best solution for the team to overcome difficulties and develop in the future. All decisions about personnel and expertise are made by coach Miura. In the immediate future, we will discuss together so that coach Miura can find additional personnel for the team in the second phase of the season.”

In addition to holding the role of Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Club, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thang will be the manager of youth football academies that Ho Chi Minh City Club cooperates with foreign partners in the near future.

In addition to introducing new chairman Nguyen Huu Thang, Binh Minh Company also announced that Ms. Mae Mua will hold the role of executive director of Ho Chi Minh City Club.
