(Baonghean.vn) - On the Giang River in Con Cuong, some people have taken advantage of the water source to develop economic models combined with eco-tourism, increasing income.

Taking advantage of the water source from the Giang River flowing near his house, which is not used for tourism, Mr. La Thanh Tuc in Thai Son 1 village, Mon Son commune (Con Cuong) boldly raised 500 ducks. After 1 year, seeing that the work was favorable, the ducks were not infected with diseases, and developed well, he invested in raising ducks in the direction of a farm with more than 200 laying ducks. This is a super-laying duck breed that he bought from Yen Thanh district for 120,000 VND/duck.

Mr. Tuc said: Raising ducks does not require a lot of capital, but the most important thing is that the breeding area must be clean to avoid disease. His ducks are mainly grazed on the Giang River, this season the food source is very abundant, in the afternoon he adds rice and corn, so the quality of the eggs is delicious, the yolk is rich and is favored by the market. Currently, Mr. Tuc collects more than 150 eggs a day, selling for about 3,000 VND/egg.

Not only raising ducks, many households have developed fish cage farming on the river in suitable places (not affecting tourism), both increasing income and having products to serve tourism..

In Xieng village, Mon Son commune, Mr. Vi Van Doan is one of the first people to apply the cage fish farming model on the Giang river. With 3 cages in a rolling style, each year his family supplies the market with about 500 - 600 kg of grass carp and silver carp, earning a profit of over 50 million VND.

According to Mr. Doan, fish raised on the Giang River grow quickly and are less susceptible to disease because the water source here is very secure, with abundant plankton and grass as food for the fish. Farmers only need to find a safe anchorage in case of floods to be able to successfully raise fish in cages.

Mr. Luong Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of Mon Son Commune People's Committee affirmed: The models of raising ducks for eggs, or raising fish in cages on Giang River are bringing about clear results. Currently, the whole commune has 4 households raising ducks on Giang River from 50 to 200 ducks and 21 fish cages of 19 households with an income of 15 million VND or more. It is worth mentioning that these households were also in very difficult circumstances before, but with their will and determination, they have risen up to develop the economy and become rich in a sustainable way.
