Will merge Bac Nghe An Vocational College with Quynh Luu Continuing Education Center
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 29, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district held a meeting to collect opinions on the Draft project to merge the Bac Nghe An Economic - Technical Vocational College and the district's Continuing Education Center.
Bac Nghe An Economic and Technical Vocational College is a public service unit under the management of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. It currently has 20 employees and 20 labor contracts, with 2 campuses.
Quynh Luu District Continuing Education Center is also a public service unit, formerly under the Department of Education and Training, but in May 2017 it was transferred to the People's Committee of Quynh Luu District for management and currently has 10 employees and 2 labor contracts.

At the meeting, delegates gave many comments on the draft project and also raised concerns about issues such as: name, functions, tasks and arrangement of staff and civil servants after the merger.
Mr. Hoang Van That - Vice Principal of Bac Nghe An Economic - Technical Vocational College is concerned: If these two units are merged into Quynh Luu District Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center, will it disrupt the learning process and will it be allowed to grant intermediate degrees to students studying at the school?
Regarding this issue, a representative of Nghe An Department of Home Affairs said that after the merger, if the Quynh Luu District Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center operates effectively and meets the requirements, it can link training with schools to grant degrees.
In addition, some other opinions also suggested that the merger implementation process needs to be carefully calculated and cautious to come up with a suitable plan that is consistent with the functions and tasks of each unit.
All comments contributed at the meeting were compiled and completed by the Department of Internal Affairs of Quynh Luu district and will be submitted to the Standing Committee of Quynh Luu District Party Committee for comments before submitting the project to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval.
The project to merge these two units aims to rearrange the organizational structure, streamline the payroll and restructure the staff and civil servants; thereby improving the effectiveness of vocational training, continuing education and career guidance; ensuring the planning for the development of the network of educational institutions, vocational training and organizing continuing education programs in Quynh Luu area.
