Dien Chau: Striving for 50% of farmer members to register as good production and business households

Based on the set goals and tasks, Dien Chau Farmers' Association at all levels has successfully implemented the targets set for the 2013-2018 term. Along with playing a core role in mobilizing farmers to consolidate land plots according to Directive 08-CT/TU and applying mechanization to production, the Association has launched an increasingly widespread labor emulation movement in all levels of the Association; creating conditions for members to access and borrow capital to do business and develop production.

Thanks to that, along with the increasing number of large-scale field models, intensive production models with high productivity and economic value have been born; cultivation, livestock, and aquaculture have been increasingly developed, seafood catch output has been increasing; more and more members have registered and become good production and business households.

By 2018, the average income per capita reached 40 million VND/year, the poverty rate was 2.6%; 20/39 communes reached the New Rural destination, in which farmer members contributed labor and funds worth 250 billion VND.

Currently, the total number of members in the district is 60,326, reaching 91% of farmers participating. Along with promoting production and business, the Association actively mobilizes members to actively participate in building new rural areas, building safe production models, ensuring food hygiene...

At the congress for the 2018-2023 term, the Dien Chau Farmers' Association set a target of striving for 90% of farmer members to be informed of the policies and laws of the Party and the State, 100% of the association bases to be classified as good and strong; 100% of the association bases to perform well in supporting services for farmers to borrow capital; the district-level farmer support fund to grow by 20% or more. Along with continuing to promote the emulation movement for good production and business, the Association strives for over 50% of households to register to become good production and business households every year, on average each year the association bases will direct 1-2 new models and help 1 member escape poverty...

After listening to the presentations, representatives of the Provincial Farmers' Association and leaders of Dien Chau district spoke to acknowledge some results; at the same time, they directed and suggested some orientations for the District Farmers' Association to perform better in the coming time.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Farmers' Association for the new term (2018-2023) and elected delegates to attend the 9th Provincial Farmers' Congress.
