(Baonghean.vn) - After a 1-2 defeat at home to Hanoi, coach Nguyen Duc Thang said he would work with the team's leadership about his future at SLNA. Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh still has faith in the current coach.

The loss to Hanoi was SLNA's 5th loss in the V.League, causing the Nghe An team to be plunged into crisis, joining the relegation group with only 7 points after 10 rounds, only about the same as Saigon and Nam Dinh.

Sharing in the press conference after the match, coach Duc Thang admitted that his team is facing a relegation race even though he and his players have never thought about this.

Coach Nguyen Duc Thang answered the press conference after the match.

The Nghe An coach shared: “First of all, I would like to thank the SLNA fans who came to the stadium to support the team in today’s match. As for the audience, I have not satisfied the fans and those who love the SLNA team.

There were many times this season when we were unlucky. From a series of key players getting injured, to a series of unfortunate losing matches, it made me think a lot. After today's defeat, I think I have to be the first person to take responsibility. I will have to rethink my future because I cannot bring success to the team and satisfy the fans."

The coach born in 1977 said he will have a direct meeting with the leadership and the whole team before making an official decision about his future. "I always want to accompany the team. However, this is a period when the team is facing many problems, so I need to have a meeting again with the Board of Directors as well as the players before making a final decision," said Mr. Thang.

On the side of Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh - Chairman of Song Lam Nghe An Club, General Director of SLNA Company said: "This year's season, SLNA faced many difficulties, many players were injured, foreign players were not of good quality and most of them were sidelined because they had not recovered, so that was one of the reasons why the team went down.

The responsibility does not entirely lie with the head coach. Currently, we still encourage coach Duc Thang and the players to continue to try and make every effort to overcome this difficult period. The team cannot go a day without the captain, so we have not thought about finding a replacement yet."

Immediately after the defeat against Hanoi FC, coach Duc Thang and his team will travel to Da Nang by train early this morning (May 31) to prepare for the away match at this opponent's field in round 11 of V.League./.
