In May 2018, the couple were honored to receive the 70-year Party membership badge. 70 years of standing side-by-side as "comrades" also represents the time they have spent together as husband and wife. Currently, despite their advanced age and having many children and grandchildren, they still choose to live separately in their old apartment in the B5 Quang Trung residential complex, Vinh City.
