When they discovered a stranger had broken into their house, they shouted for help, but the man stabbed Mrs. Thu and her husband. The man then barricaded himself in the house for several hours.

Vinh Yen City Police, Vinh Phuc Province, said they are detaining Nguyen Truong Giang (27 years old), residing in Tich Son Ward, Vinh Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province, for intentionally causing injury.

According to initial information from the police, at around 8:00 p.m. on June 1, when Mr. Vu Ngoc Hue (60 years old) and his wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Thu (53 years old), residing in Khai Quang ward, Vinh Yen city, were at home. Suddenly, Mrs. Thu discovered that a stranger had broken into her house, so she shouted for help but was stabbed by the person with a knife.

Police took statement from suspect Nguyen Truong Giang.

Hearing his wife’s voice, Mr. Hue ran out of the house while taking a shower and was also stabbed. Immediately after, Mr. Hue tried to escape to the second floor to call for help and fell from the second floor to the street.

Hearing the screams, people nearby ran over and discovered Mr. Hue lying on the street in front of his house, with many injuries and blood all around.

Receiving the news, the policeVinh Yen City quickly arrived at the scene and took the victim to the emergency room. After committing the crime, the suspect barricaded himself in the house. With professional measures, the suspect was subdued and taken to the police station for clarification.

At the police station, the suspect was identified as Nguyen Truong Giang. According to Vinh Yen City Police, Giang is related to the victim, and there was a previous conflict between the perpetrator and the victim’s family.

Currently, Mr. Hue and his wife are being treated at Viet Duc Hospital (Hanoi) and are not yet conscious enough to give statements. The case is being further investigated by Vinh Yen City Police.
