How to adjust the correct driving posture for drivers
(Baonghean.vn) - A properly adjusted driving posture will give you the most comfortable feeling and handle unexpected situations well. On the contrary, an incorrect driving posture not only causes unsafe driving, but also affects your health in the long run.
Steering wheel distance

The appropriate steering wheel position is 30 - 35cm in front of the driver's chest, with the driver's hands always slightly bent (about 40 degrees) when placed on the steering wheel.
If the steering wheel is too close, the driver's face may be injured when the airbag deploys in the event of a collision. If the steering wheel is too far away, causing the arms to be straight when placed on the wheel, the driver's shoulder blades may be affected in the event of sudden braking due to the inertia force.
The ideal steering wheel height is when the driver can see all the information on the instrument panel when glancing through the upper half of the aperture in the middle of the steering wheel rim.
Outside rearview mirror

Under normal driving conditions (except when reversing), the ideal mirror position is when the driver can see only a very narrow strip of the rear end and rear bumper of the vehicle through the mirror.
If the mirror is adjusted to have a wide field of view (cannot see part of the rear of the car), the blind spot will be limited, making it difficult to reverse because the driver has no reference point to measure the road. If the mirror is adjusted too narrow, the blind spot will be large, making it difficult for the driver to see the vehicles next to them when changing lanes.
Adjust inside mirror

In the most comfortable sitting position, the driver can see the entire rearview mirror, which means the inside rearview mirror is adjusted correctly.
Misalignment can prevent the driver from seeing vehicles or obstacles near the rear corners of the vehicle, making it unsafe to reverse or park.
Back of chair

Depending on the type of car, the seat back can be adjusted to recline more or less. Typically, in cars with a low driving position (sports cars or sedans), the seat reclines more than in other types of cars.
The best way to test the seat back is to apply the brakes firmly without the driver's back sliding up, causing loss of braking force.
Adjust the seat headrest
The ideal position for the headrest is when the middle part of the pillow is level with the driver's eyes. The distance from the driver's head to the headrest is only about 2.5 - 3cm is most suitable.
A headrest that is too close will make the driver feel uncomfortable when moving; if it is too far away, it will be dangerous, causing the driver's neck bones to be damaged in the event of a strong collision from behind.
Adjust seat distance

The most reasonable distance from the seat cushion to the control pedals is when the driver fully depresses the brake pedal while the legs are still slightly bent at an angle of about 30 degrees. If the legs are too bent, the driver's seat is too close, the braking force will not be able to reach the optimal level. If the legs are straight, the driver's seat is too far, the driver will have to lean forward when braking suddenly, or more dangerously, will not be able to fully depress the brake pedal.
Legs straight and stiff when braking suddenly also leads to the driver's hips being bent due to inertia causing the body to unevenly lean forward.
