Opening Ceremony of the 22nd Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament 2018

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

A place to nurture young football talents

(Baonghean.vn) - In these days of June, joining the vibrant and exciting atmosphere of the biggest football tournament on the planet - World Cup 2018 held in the land of White Birch, the 22nd Youth Football Tournament - Nghe An Newspaper Cup officially kicked off, creating a useful and interesting playground for Nghe An children during the summer.

The 22nd Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament 2018 took place from June 9 to 15, 2018. This year's tournament had 336 players, 28 teams participating, including 18 Children's teams and 10 Youth teams from 21 districts, cities and towns in the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, comrade Tran Van Hung - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament stated: The Youth - Youth Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup was established in 1996, originating from the enthusiasm of those working in the Party's press and in the province's cultural and sports sector.

Having become an annual traditional tournament, over the past 22 years, the Tournament has always received special attention from Party committees, authorities, departments, organizations, young players, parents, schools, businesses and a large number of fans.

The tournament is increasingly impressive, creating a healthy and useful playground for teenagers and children during the summer. With its strong influence, the tournament has contributed to promoting the socialization of sports in the province, the development of Nghe An football and the whole country.

The Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament has "nurtured" hundreds of players for SLNA Club and youth football training centers nationwide to select. Among them, many players have grown up, playing for the national team, SLNA Club and first and second division teams nationwide. We can mention the Vietnamese Golden Balls, the stars who have become famous from the Newspaper Cup such as: Cong Vinh, Duong Hong Son, Van Binh, Trong Hoang, Cong Phuong, Nguyen Manh, Minh Duc, Que Ngoc Hai, Van Duc, Xuan Manh...

This year, the Youth Football Tournament - Nghe An Newspaper Cup continues to receive the attention and support of all levels, sectors, localities and sponsors. In addition to Saigon - Nghe Tinh Beer Joint Stock Company, which is the main sponsor and has accompanied the Tournament for 22 years, there are 36 co-sponsors, notably Golden City Company, Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company, Tecco Joint Stock Company... and many other enterprises.

At the opening ceremony, the Provincial People's Committee presented gifts and the Organizing Committee awarded the title "Good at playing football, good at studying" to more than 150 players with excellent academic achievements.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the first match took place between Thanh Chuong Children's Team and Hung Nguyen Children's Team./.
