Do My Linh shows off her bare shoulders when judging Miss Vietnam 2018

On the morning of June 10, the Miss Vietnam 2018 contest officially kicked off with the Southern preliminary round in Ho Chi Minh City. The reigning Miss Do My Linh stood out in a shoulder-baring dress by designer Do Manh Cuong.

My Linh became the first reigning Miss to take on the role of judge for Miss Vietnam. Being invited to this important position caused the beauty to face opposition because she is young and has not had much experience in life. However, the organizing committee still highly appreciated the experiences and achievements that My Linh has gained in the past two years, including being in the top 40 and winning the 'Miss Charity' award at the Miss World 2017 contest.

As the youngest judge in the history of the contest, My Linh is expected to bring new, trendy assessments and leave an impression on the 30th anniversary of the organization. The beauty queen shared that she wants to find a successor who possesses both inner beauty and intelligence, not simply three-round measurements.

Despite sitting in the 'hot seat', Do My Linh still accompanies the contestants in some sideline activities. In the final night scheduled to take place on the evening of September 16, she will sit below as a member of the jury. When the results are announced, My Linh will go on stage to crown the new Miss.

Miss Vietnam 1988 - Bui Bich Phuong - continues to take on the role of judge for the third time after 2008 and 2012. Miss Bich Phuong wants to choose a contestant who possesses the beauty of a flower that has just bloomed so that spring can last long.

Ha Kieu Anh was excited to judge Miss Vietnam for the first time. She wore a striking outfit, showing off her radiant beauty at the age of 42.

Three generations of Miss Vietnam will compete in beauty. They will be closely followed by historian Duong Trung Quoc, poet Tran Huu Viet, and designer Le Thanh Hoa to choose the most deserving contestant.

Ms. Pham Kim Dung (in black dress) - Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee - said that the Miss Vietnam 2018 contest continues to pursue the criteria of finding girls who possess physical beauty, knowledge, cultural style and spiritual beauty. The winner will represent Vietnam at Miss World 2018 in China.

From early morning on June 10, many candidates were present at the preliminary round venue to prepare for the first round. They were given registration numbers, met the judges and had their body measurements measured by an anthropometric expert.

Many girls have beautiful faces and bright smiles. The contestants' styles are also diverse, from ao dai to short skirts and light makeup.

The list of finalists will be announced by the organizers at the end of June 10. The Southern final round will take place in Quy Nhon on June 23.
