CDIO is an abbreviation for the English phrase Conceive - Design - Implement - Operate.
CDIO's vision is to:Integrate professional skills such as teamwork and communication; Emphasize active and experiential learning; Continuous improvement through a high-stakes quality assurance process; Enrich the course with student-designed, built and tested projects.
CDIO is an initiative of the engineering departments of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, in collaboration with Swedish universities. This is a solution to improve the quality of training to meet social requirements based on determining output standards to design training programs and methods according to a scientific process.
It can be understood that the CDIO approach aims to train students to develop comprehensively in terms of knowledge, skills, attitudes, practical abilities and a sense of responsibility to society.
