Previously, on the evening of June 3, the family of passenger Pham Huy Cuong (32 years old, residing in Thai Nguyen City) went to Da Nang International Airport to check in for the Da Nang - Hanoi flight but were informed that the flight was canceled and transferred to the morning of June 4 due to weather reasons.

Mr. Cuong used an incorrect phone number to register for the ticket purchase, so he did not receive any notification from the airline. In anger, he threw a metal-cased Nokia 8800 phone at the ticket counter employee Cao Thi Thu Thao, causing her to have to be hospitalized.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Mr. Cuong was banned from flying from June 21, 2018 to June 20, 2019. The Central Airport Authority also fined him 7.5 million VND.
