Thanh Chuong: 12 people were struck by lightning while herding buffaloes

On the morning of June 17, Mr. Phan Ba Ngoc - Chairman of Thanh Lien Commune People's Committee (Thanh Chuong District) said that 12 people including adults and children struck by lightning in the area were all out of danger, no one's life was in danger.
Earlier, at 4:00 p.m. on June 16, a group of people from Thanh Lien commune went to graze buffaloes in a newly harvested rice field in the area when they encountered a thunderstorm. 12 people went into a tent covered with tarpaulin in the middle of the field to take shelter from the rain when they were suddenly struck by lightning and knocked unconscious.
A moment later, some of the less seriously injured victims woke up to help the more seriously injured, and at the same time called people from the village to come and rescue them.
They were transferred to local medical facilities for emergency treatment, with one severe case being transferred to a higher level.
