(Baonghean.vn) - On June 25, Pyongyang commemorated the 68th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War (June 25, 1950 - June 25, 2018). However, it is noteworthy that North Korea's propaganda media on this day no longer carried anti-American propaganda like every year.

According to analysts, this could be part of the North Korean government's efforts to maintain the existing diplomatic momentum between the two countries, especially after the summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

According to AFP news agency, anti-US propaganda posters and billboards no longer appear on the streets of the capital Pyongyang, while images of missile launchers and military formations often seen outside the train station in the capital Pyongyang have also been replaced by simulated images of industry and agriculture.

This is in stark contrast to this time in previous years when North Korean media outlets repeatedly broadcast anti-American information.

Last year's event was held in Kim Il Sung Square in the capital Pyongyang, with an estimated 100,000 people attending. North Korea even issued special anti-US postage stamps.

However, for the first time in many years, a similar march was not held as planned on June 25 this year.

Mr. Peter Ward, a North Korea researcher at Seoul National University, commented that "this is something special", and also said: "What we see is what this country (North Korea) wants us to do".

The Korean War anniversary comes two weeks after a historic meeting between the US and North Korean leaders in Singapore, where the two sides signed a joint statement in which Pyongyang pledged to "work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula."
