Thanh Chuong girl receives bitter ending for sending drugs to her lover

On June 25, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened a first-instance criminal trial of Dang Thai Dan (born in 1983), residing in Son Linh commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province; Vu Van Quang (born in 1993), Nguyen Hong Son (born in 1976), both residing in Nghi Huong ward, Cua Lo town, and Lu Phuong Thao (born in 1995), residing in Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) for the crimes of "Illegal trading of narcotics" and "Illegal transportation of narcotics".

On September 22, Dan continued to buy a small package of drugs for 3 million VND and then gave it to Quang to sell for 5 million VND. On September 23, Quang sold the drugs to Nguyen Hong Son. Son divided the drugs into small amounts to sell and use. While using them, he was discovered and arrested by Nghi Loc District Police.
On September 24, Dang Thai Dan bought a package of drugs from a Laotian man and brought it to his girlfriend's house to hide. On September 26, when a customer came to buy, Dan told Quang to go to Thao's house to get the drugs he had sent earlier. Thao took the bag of drugs with Quang to Vinh City. When Quang delivered the drugs to the customer, he was arrested by the police. The next evening, Thao and Dan were also arrested while staying at a hotel in Vinh City.
Differentiating the roles of each defendant in the case, the panel sentenced Dang Thai Dan to 15 years and 6 months in prison; Vu Van Quang to 15 years in prison, and Nguyen Hong Son to 30 months in prison for “Illegal drug trafficking”. For the crime of “Illegal drug transportation”, Lu Phuong Thao was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
