At noon on June 26, Ms. Lang Thi Huong (residing in Ang village, Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district) and her husband and youngest daughter traveled to Vinh city to attend the trial of her eldest son, Lo Thai Hop. Hop was born in 2002, only 16 years old, and was prosecuted for "murder".
Having three children, despite their poor family background, the couple still tried to work hard, hoping that they would become good people and get a good education. When their first son passed the high school entrance exam, the couple was extremely happy, with so many expectations and dreams growing bigger and bigger. Then, it suddenly disappeared right after the son finished the first semester of 10th grade. "He is very gentle, behaves gently with his parents and siblings, and doesn't raise his voice at anyone when he goes out...", Ms. Huong choked up with tears.
The incident happened on the 5th day of the Lunar New Year. Ang village organized a party for students in the village. Hop asked her parents' permission to join. Thinking that her son would go out and meet and socialize with friends, she and her husband agreed. But when her son did not return home at midnight, she had a premonition that something bad was going to happen.That day, around 2am, after the party, everyone was drunk, almost everyone went home, only Hop and a few people stayed, including Luong The Ky. When Ky was playing a game on his phone, Hop looked at Ky's phone and said "this game is too strong". Ky asked Hop "what is the name of this game", Hop said "this game is called Then". After that, Ky asked another friend and learned that this game was called AoTho.
For that reason, an argument broke out between Mr. Ky and Hop. After that, the two started fighting. Lo Thai Hop used a knife to slash Mr. Ky. Although he was taken to the emergency room immediately, Mr. Ky did not survive and died on February 22, 2018.

Knowing that Mr. Ky had died, Hop went to the Que Phong District Police to surrender. Since then, more than 4 months have passed, and Ms. Huong has not had a good night's sleep.
In court, Hop cried many times, and so did Ms. Huong. Sitting behind her son, she kept clutching the edge of the table to try not to cry.
In court, she approached her son but could not say anything. She wanted to encourage him, wanted to tell him how much she loved him, but her mother's emotions were choked up.
The youngest daughter, who was just in second grade, also cried along with her mother and brother. Ms. Huong comforted her daughter while looking back at her son with sorrow.
For the murder, Hop was sentenced to 7 years in prison, and her family had to compensate the victim's family 87 million VND.
At the end of the trial, everyone left. She stood there, looking after her child and crying...
