Previously, at 10:00 a.m. on June 26, in hamlet 23, Nghi Van commune, local people digging the ground to make a road discovered a bomb about 1.5 meters deep under the ground.
After receiving the news, the Nghi Loc District Military Command conducted a blockade and organized forces to guard the area and not allow people to enter the scene. At the same time, they reported to their superiors and requested the deployment of engineering forces to coordinate the response.

On the morning of June 30, the Engineering Department of the Provincial Military Command, the Military Command of Nghi Loc district, and the militia forces of Nghi Van and Nghi Lam communes dug up, moved, and destroyed the bomb to ensure safety.
Major Tran Van Duc - Assistant to the Engineering Department, Nghe An Provincial Military Command said: If this bomb explodes, it will be capable of causing damage within a radius of 1,000m, in which the danger zone has a radius of 500m.
